- Brought together by the joy of being immersed in Celtic music, Makbeth was formed in 2013. Blending the dark sounds of the cello, the driving fiddle, and the bright tones of the flute and oboe, Makhbeth explores styles from all across the world, spanning from Scotland to Brittany and Ireland to Cape Breton Island. Playing fiddle and singing with the trio, Bethany Wanket graduated from Fort Lewis College with a violin performance degree and is currently teaching private lessons and performing classical and Celtic styles regularly throughout the area. Khara Wolf holds a performance degree in oboe from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is dedicated in the pursuit of bringing oboe into the world of Celtic music as a traditional instrument. She teaches oboe, high altitude reed making, and Celtic flute in the four corners area. Maria Blair plays cello with Makbeth and is an avid fiddle player. As a pillar of the Celtic community, she runs the Durango Scottish Dancers and does Scottish country, Highland, Cape Breton step, and Irish dancing. Together the three members weave a tapestry of music that will set your feet dancing.
